M7+ Investigation 1 Reflection

M7+ Investigation 1 Reflection

     1. What are the common properties of all polygons?

All polygons have at least three straight sides and angles, and a polygon is a closed shape. If a polygon has less than three straight sides and angles, the shape would be open, which would not make it a polygon. The sides of a polygon never cross each other, and exactly two sides meet at every vertex.

2a. What does the measure in degrees tell you about an angle?

The measure in degrees can tell you if the angle is acute, right, obtuse, straight, or reflex.

2b. What are some common benchmark angles?

Some common benchmark angles are all the multiples of 30° and 45°

3a. What strategies can be used to estimate angle measures?

You could estimate which benchmark angle is closest to the angle, then add or subtract the estimated distance from the angle to the benchmark angle.

3b. What strategies can be used to deduce angle measures from given information?

Using the formula t=180(s-2), you can calculate the total value of all of the angles in a regular polygon. First, you substitute t as total value and s as the number of sides of the regular polygon. Then, divide the total value of the angles by how many angles there are, and you are left with the measure of one angle of the regular polygon.

3c. What strategies can be used to find accurate measurements with tools?

You can use a protractor to accurately measure an angle, but you may have to extend the lines depending on the protractor's size.

My Heart Beat Graph

Today in Math class we did step-ups to calculate our heart rate. This graph shows my heart rate from my exercising rate to my relaxed rate. My heart beat is slow to recover, so that shows that i am not that healthy.
